For me, it's Steely Dan Gold. I played it like crazy years ago when I was going through a divorce. It just lifted me up. Now I play it and it feels sooooo good.
What's your music for a Friday??

Fri, March 11, 2005 - 3:41 PMI play various old and new dan. True Companion,(Donald Fagan) from the heavy metal soundtrack, Various songs from AJA, 11 tracks of Whack by (Walter Becker solo album),Gaucho, Can't Buy a Thrill! and Two against nature. All their music is great and it seems to me that it doesn't matter what order you listen to them in because every song is a gem. -

Mon, March 14, 2005 - 11:26 AMI adore 11 Tracks of Whack! It's just so totally Walter--the intensity, the irony, the bouts of out-there wacko stuff, the surprising moments of vulnerability and sweetness hidden amidst the hard-boiled attitude--and Walter's own weird-but-wonderful singing voice. The first time I heard "Surf and/or Die" I busted out crying--one of the best statements about dealing with death that I have ever heard, in song or in any other format. Wish Walter would do another, one of these centuries ... :-) -

Mon, March 14, 2005 - 8:39 PMHat too flat is just Whacky.
Surf and/or Die is absolutely brilliant. The Monks Chanting at the end.
Surf and/or Die,Book of Liars and Lucky Henry remind of what a great poet/writer he is.
Here, Here! Another album Walter and make it strong.

Mon, March 14, 2005 - 7:13 PMIf you love "True Companion " should(if you haven't already) check out Kamakiriad. There are some songs like "Florida Room" and "Snowbound" That are just lovely. Then of course he comes out of left field with a song like "Tomorrow's Girls".
NightFly is one of my favorite albums.. Evertime I hear "I.G.Y" I just want to cry it's so beautiful. The "Goodbye Look" is a great one too.
Countdown to Ecstasy
Razorboy
"Will you still have a song to sing
When the razor boy comes
And take your fancy things away
Will you still be singing it
On that cold and windy day"
Pearl of the the Quarter
Your Gold Teeth.
Sounds like a good afternoon to me.
